Halloween 2011

This year we only had two trick or treaters.  Laura and Haley were in full spirit and came home with tons of candy.
Laura a scary pharaoh mummy and Haley a cotton tail bunny.  They were creative all by themselves this year and pulled things out of our costume boxes to put their costumes together.

Wouldn't you know they were the only two who wanted to carve a pumpkin this year.  This has always been the highlight for the kids (me).  So as we were thinking of creative things to do we pulled a stencil from the internet. The two little girls cleaned out the pumpkin and outlined the stencil.
David was suppose to do the "big" cutting but that was not of interest to him this year.
So in the morning after they all left for school I cut the rest of the pumpkin.

Since we had one of the last pumpkins at King Soopers (how I miss the Half Moon Bay pumpkin patch)
This is what we went with....looks scary to me!

  1. Those are great costumes! Very impressive for things just pulled out of the costume box. And I agree, that is a very scary pumpkin. The withered old Colorado pumpkin makes it even scarier. But I too miss the lush green pumpkin patches of the West Coast!

ROAD TRIP July 2009

Halloween 2009

Found an old picture of the kids in 2003. Thought it would be a fun way to see how much they've grown. Pretty soon I'll be lucky if they'll take a picture for me! 3 out of 5 pumpkins made it to the porch! David carved way too much and it sort of fell apart. (why it is on his head) Haley tripped on the front porch and the pumpkin flew to its end. While comforting Haley something happened to Reid's pumpkin and it ended up in 2 peices. We're just happy we got to carve pumpkins this year!
