City of Lights

David and Rachel have played a few pranks on each other which have needed parent approval.  The ultimate was when David decided he was going to ask Rachel to prom.  He wanted to think of something creative that would really surprise her.  David had me help him and we spent about 2 hours blowing up balloons and he wrote prom? on every single one.  Her favorite candy are robin eggs so David convinced his sisters to make some cookies with them inside.
Rachel was gone for a weekend in visiting the college she is going to this year.  After a long weekend and flight home she walked in about 11 pm at night to the balloons and cookies.  She avoided David the whole next day at school.  She was trying to think of a way to answer.
So late Monday night (a windy and rainy night) she put over 2,000 post it notes on his truck.  With Yes on the back and on the windshield.  David came out to the truck covered when leaving before 6 am and didn't take them off.  But don't worry....school security made him come out during class to pull them off the truck.
So after all the fun of asking and answering the planning began.  Rachel and her mother made this beautiful dress.  Flowers were ordered and reservations made.  They looked so great and matched perfect.

The kids even entertained the parents and posed for pictures at a park.  You can see all the different cameras we had going.  A total of four and they were such good sports!

This one we were trying to get Rachel to be serious or look angry and she just couldn't do it.  Nothing but smiles and laughs.  So the best we could get was her turning away.
We tried goofy faces and all different poses.  I'm sure glad we did because they didn't take pictures at the prom.  I love this one of them walking away even if we had to tell them to turn through the middle.
Later I got a text message from one of my friends saying how great David and Rachel looked.  I was wondering how she knew that.  She was seated at the Elephant Bar next to them.  We didn't even have to send a spy in to watch them it all worked out great!

ROAD TRIP July 2009

Halloween 2009

Found an old picture of the kids in 2003. Thought it would be a fun way to see how much they've grown. Pretty soon I'll be lucky if they'll take a picture for me! 3 out of 5 pumpkins made it to the porch! David carved way too much and it sort of fell apart. (why it is on his head) Haley tripped on the front porch and the pumpkin flew to its end. While comforting Haley something happened to Reid's pumpkin and it ended up in 2 peices. We're just happy we got to carve pumpkins this year!
